The NBA Has Fined Grizzlies HC Over Recent Comments

Frustrations are clearly mounting for the Memphis Grizzlies as they’ve endured one of the worst beginnings to a season in recent memory.

Through their first nine games, the Grizzlies are 1-8 and sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference.

Memphis has been without Ja Morant who is still serving his 25-game suspension, but the team’s problems extend far past the superstar guard’s absence.

Despite their defense being just about the middle of the pack, the Grizzlies have been one of the worst offensive teams in the league as they struggle to get much going in half-court situations.

However, the team also has a gripe with how they’ve been officiated as their most recent loss to the Utah Jazz featured several questionable calls.

Head coach Taylor Jenkins ripped the officials in his postgame conference and he was predictably fined by the league for his comments via Ball Don’t Lie.

Jenkins didn’t hold back any punches as he told the media to “saddle up” and went on to say that it was one of the worst officiated games he’s seen and even cursed at the end of his rant.

The head coach was not pleased with how many calls went against his team, though now he and the roster have more problems to figure out.

With the offense having trouble scoring points, Jenkins needs to go back to the drawing board and find ways to grease up the scheme.

Even when Morant returns later this season, it could very well be too late if things continue as they are.
