Stefon Diggs #14 of the Buffalo Bills warms up prior to the NFL Match between Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 08, 2023 in London, England.

The Buffalo Bills had been considered Super Bowl contenders in each of the last three seasons, but this year, they have hit some adversity.

There was the Stefon Diggs drama coming into the season, and although that has seemingly calmed down lately, the Bills have had trouble winning games with regularity.

They currently have a dismal 5-5 record after falling apart on Monday in crunch time and losing by two points to the Denver Broncos, and the buzzards seem to be circling over the team.

On FS1’s “Speak,” former NFL player Emmanuel Acho said the Bills’ championship window is now closed, and he backed up that claim by pointing out that many teams, at least in recent years, have only had a three-year championship window before major changes came.

One of the reasons Buffalo has struggled this season is multiple injuries to key defensive players, including linebacker Matt Milano, who was named to both the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro First-Team last season.

However, some of the blame also should go to their offense.

Quarterback Josh Allen threw two interceptions and had a fumble versus Denver, and he now has the most interceptions thrown in the NFL with 11 this season.

He has been elite in several other categories, but he hasn’t looked quite as outstanding as he has in recent seasons.

While Diggs continues to be an absolute stud (he’s fifth in the league in receiving yards), the Bills lack a reliable and productive WR2 behind him.

Perhaps it isn’t time for them to hit the reset button, but they will have plenty of work to do this offseason if they are to win their first Super Bowl championship with this current core.
