The New England Patriots are in the middle of a lost season.
Whatever could go wrong for the Patriots this year has gone wrong.
First and foremost, all of their issues stem from a lack of solid quarterback play.
Mac Jones is having his worst season as a pro, and we are at the point where he may be getting permanently benched.
The Patriots are set to face off with the New York Giants this week.
But, Jones is not certain if he will be the starting quarterback.
According to Mike Reiss, Jones was asked if he is starting this week and he said: “Hope so.”
Question: Are you starting Sunday?
Mac Jones: “Hope so.”

In 10 starts this year, Jones has thrown for 10 touchdowns with 10 interceptions.
He has seemingly gotten worse each season in the NFL.
The Patriots are coming off their bye week, so it is safe to assume they have a plan as to who is starting.
It looks to be either Jones or Bailey Zappe.
But, they prefer not to announce it so the Giants have to prepare for both quarterbacks.
Looking at the Patriots’ roster, it is best served that they lose as many games as possible.
They need to enter a full rebuild and that starts with getting the best draft pick possible.
New England will not be able to return to relevancy without figuring out the quarterback position.
It seems likely the Patriots will be looking to make substantial changes to their roster and coaching staff after this year.
All successful teams have good quarterback play, while the Patriots have still not found the right guy since Brady left.
