The Baltimore Ravens have surprised many around the NFL due to their strong play to begin the year.

They have taken over as the No. 1 seed in the AFC, a title they’d like to carry into the playoffs.

While this has generated significant buzz around the Ravens, Lamar Jackson has cautioned an abundance of optimism.

In a conversation shared by the Ravens via Around The NFL, Jackson said, “It’s still a lot of season left to play. It doesn’t really mean anything right now.”

Jackson understands that, while he and the Ravens are headed in the right direction, there is a lot of season left to be played.

While the regular season is meaningful by way of playoff seeding, ultimately, it only matters how teams perform in the postseason.

Even if the Ravens are the No. 1 seed, it doesn’t matter if they are bounced before the Super Bowl.

However, this is not to take away from what Jackson and the Ravens have accomplished thus far.

Jackson’s passing numbers have been much better than advertised, and he has been frequently mentioned in the MVP conversation.

This has been the first time since he won the award in 2019 that Jackson has found himself in these talks.

With any luck, his spectacular play will continue, and the Ravens will keep their pace moving.

It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out for the rest of the AFC.

Who will end up as the AFC’s top seed heading into the playoffs?
