It has now been a couple of seasons since Dwight Howard has played in the NBA.

The eight-time All-Star has done a lot since moving overseas to play basketball but he’s made no secret of his desire to return to America and sign with a team in the league again.

According to BasketNews, via NBACentral, Howard is “showing interest” in playing in the Euroleague and the NBL in Australia.

However, it is being reported that Howard aims to have an “NBA exit” clause in any potential contract, meaning he can leave and return to the NBA if they call.

It’s clear that Howard is still very intent on suiting up for an NBA team as soon as possible, but it’s not clear if that will happen.

During his 18 seasons, Howard averaged 15.7 points and 11.8 rebounds and earned a ton of accolades, such as rebounding champion five times, blocking champion twice, and Defensive Player of the Year three times.

He also got a championship ring with the 2020 Los Angeles Lakers.

Toward the end of his NBA career, Howard was only averaging about 6 points and 6 rebounds and played for 16 minutes per game.

Last season, Howard was with the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan.

During 20 games, he recorded 23.2 points and 16.2 rebounds.

Howard clearly still has talent but is it enough to earn him re-entry to the NBA?

He tried to gain a spot with the Golden State Warriors recently but that team ended up passing on him.

It won’t be easy for Howard to return to the Association but he is obviously trying.
