The Philadelphia Eagles, owners of the best record in the NFL, suffered a major setback on Sunday when they lost 42-19 to the San Francisco 49ers.

It was the type of loss that is a reality check, as their defense got exposed while the 49ers were able to bottle up quarterback Jalen Hurts like few teams have over the last couple of years.

The Eagles still have a 10-2 record, but they’re now in jeopardy of losing the top spot in the NFC and having to win a playoff game on the road in order to return to the Super Bowl.

On FS1’s “Speak,” LeSean McCoy, a former star running back who spent several years with the Eagles, said the team’s fans shouldn’t panic because of the grit the team consists of.

Prior to the loss to the 49ers, Philly had come from behind to win a number of games, which showed their ability to overcome adversity.

They still have an MVP candidate in quarterback Jalen Hurts, who has overcome plenty of critics and doubters going back to his college days to become a star.

In addition, wide receiver A.J. Brown is having a big year while they boast defensive studs such as Haason Reddick, Josh Sweat, and Darius Slay.

The hope is that the acquisition of linebacker Shaquille Leonard this week will infuse the team with some of the attributes it has been lacking on defense.

The Eagles will have another huge game this Sunday, this time on the road against the Dallas Cowboys, and it could determine which team will end up finishing first in the NFC East.
