Zach Wilson Responds To Report About Not Wanting To Play

The New York Jets’ chaotic season continues as their chances of making the playoffs are just about gone.

They will host the fast-emerging Houston Texans this Sunday, and they have a new controversy at quarterback, as head coach Robert Saleh reportedly wants to make another change at the position.

Tim Boyle started under center this past week when the Jets lost to the Atlanta Falcons, 13-8, but he was then replaced by backup Trevor Siemian at one point during the contest.

After Boyle was released on Tuesday, rumor had it that Saleh wanted to return to starting Wilson at QB, and Wilson reportedly didn’t want to start because he was concerned he could get hurt.

But per Ari Meirov, he says that report wasn’t true.

Wilson will be the starter on Sunday against the Texans, a team that boasts rookie QB C.J. Stroud, who is already one of the NFL’s best, not to mention a rising star in wide receiver Nico Collins.

In 10 games this year, Wilson has completed 59.2 percent of his pass attempts and has thrown seven interceptions against just six touchdown passes.

New York’s mess at the position started on their first offensive series of the season when future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers went down with a torn Achilles.

Lately, there has been lots of reports that Rodgers will attempt a hasty comeback, as he returned to practice last week only about three months after suffering the injury.

But more recently, reports have indicated that he is unlikely to get back onto the field this season due to the Jets’ virtually nonexistent chances of reaching the postseason.
