Coming into Week 13’s matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles, the San Francisco 49ers and quarterback Brock Purdy had the ideal opportunity to make a statement and prove they are a legitimate Super Bowl title contender with the NFL playoffs right around the corner.

Even though the Eagles were arguably the best team in the NFL coming into this matchup with the 49ers, San Francisco was prepared and ready to avenge their loss against Philadelphia in last year’s NFC Championship Game.

One player who had perhaps the most pressure on him coming into this showdown between NFC heavyweights was Purdy, who was unable to do much in the NFC Championship Game due to a shoulder injury that required offseason surgery.

Purdy didn’t disappoint against the Eagles, as he had one of the best games of his NFL career, leading the 49ers to a 23-point win with 314 passing yards and four touchdowns.

With Purdy proving his worth this season, NFL player turned analyst Greg Olsen argues that the 49ers starting quarterback deserves more credit than he’s getting, via NFL on FOX Podcast.

At this point, it seems as though Purdy has proven he’s the real deal and is ready to lead this team to a Super Bowl title, but the next step will be taking down the Eagles or Dallas Cowboys in the NFL playoffs in order to get to the big game.

The 49ers have five more regular-season games left on their schedule before heading into the postseason, where San Francisco may very well be the team to beat in the NFC.
