Shannon Sharpe Blames Warriors For Draymond Green’s Antics

Earlier in the week, the Golden State Warriors went head-to-head against the division-rival Phoenix Suns in what was a highly anticipated matchup between two teams that were thought to be heavyweights in the Western Conference this season.

Unfortunately, the Warriors haven’t been able to live up to expectations this season, with Stephen Curry and company struggling to get back to form, even with the addition of veteran point guard Chris Paul.

As if things weren’t headed in the wrong direction already for the storied Warriors franchise, veteran forward Draymond Green made matters that much worse as he got into an on-court altercation with Jusuf Nurkic, which resulted in an ejection and a suspension from the league.

Even though many believed Green would get another suspension similar to the one he got when he got Rudy Gobert in a headlock earlier in the season, the NBA decided to make an example of him by suspending the four-time NBA champion indefinitely, which has sparked a reaction from Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson on their “Nightcap” podcast.

Sharpe believes Green deserves the blame for his actions, but he does think that the team and head coach Steve Kerr should bear some of the blame because they allowed this to happen without trying to help him stop this kind of on-court behavior.

The real question now for the Warriors is how much this suspension will impact the team that was already struggling and unable to right the ship after a tough start to the 2023-24 campaign.

Things are definitely not trending in the right direction for the Warriors, and that era of dominance in the Bay Area may have finally come to an end.
