The Baltimore Orioles are one team that is looking to prove last season was no fluke.

The Orioles won 101 games last season and were the top team in the American League.

But do they have enough for another 100+ win season?

The AL East has gotten tougher as we saw the New York Yankees acquire Juan Soto.

Also, the Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays both were playoff teams last year.

But, one position where the Orioles separate themselves from the rest is at catcher.

They have arguably the best catcher in baseball in Adley Rutschman.

Rutschman has only played two MLB seasons and has already established himself as one of the best young players in the game.

According to Sarah Langs, Rutschman is the first catcher in MLB history with at least a 125 OPS+ in each of his first two seasons.

At 25 years old, Rutschman has plenty of room to improve on his already elite skills.

Last season, he finished ninth in the AL in MVP voting while also winning a Silver Slugger award.

He has elite plate discipline as he showed by walking 92 times last year and striking out only 101.

Rutschman is the full package and that is why he was worthy of the first-overall pick back in 2019.

The young Orioles got their first taste of the postseason last year and ended up getting swept in the ALDS by the Texas Rangers.

Baltimore needs to make some moves to improve this offseason.

At least they can feel confident they have the best catcher in baseball.
