The National Football League is a short-memory league, and it’s also a quarterback-driven league.

That means it doesn’t really matter what you did yesterday or two years ago; it’s all about getting the job done now.

With that in mind, three franchises have decided to make huge decisions with just two games left on the schedule.

For starters, the New York Giants have decided to go back to Tyrod Taylor, putting an end to Tommy DeVito’s impressive run in charge of the offense.

Now, the undrafted free agent will go back to being Taylor’s backup, and his future with the organization is pretty much uncertain (via Ian Rapoport).

Then, the Washington Commanders decided to cut the cord and send Sam Howell to the bench.

This doesn’t strike as much of a surprise, as Howell struggled mightily before veteran backup Jacoby Brissett almost led a 30-point comeback vs. the New York Jets.

Now, Brissett will run the show for the final two weeks, and this could be the end of the Howell era in the nation’s capital (via Ian Rapoport).

Last but not least, the Denver Broncos will turn to Jarred Stidham as their QB for the upcoming two matchups, sending Russell Wilson to the bench to finish the season (via Adam Schefter).

The Broncos went 1-3 in the past month after being one of the hottest teams in the league, and with Russell Wilson having $37 million in 2025 salary, the Broncos will look to avoid any risk of injury and keep financial flexibility for the offseason.
